Greens Perf Terms of Service govern your access to and use of our sustainability benchmarking platform, established in 2021 and built on a peer-comparison methodology that evaluates verified sector data rather than self-reported targets. By using the platform, you accept these terms, which prioritize data integrity, corporate accountability, and the interests of sustainability officers and ESG-focused investors. Your responsibilities and prohibited activities are detailed below.
- Accurate Data Submission. You must provide complete, verifiable sustainability metrics from audited or publicly disclosed sources. Falsifying, omitting, or misrepresenting data to alter your benchmark position relative to sector peers is strictly prohibited.
- No Benchmark Manipulation. You may not engage in any activity that artificially inflates or deflates your own or any other entity’s peer-relative score, including coordinated data submissions or selective disclosure of non-material metrics.
- Compliance with Applicable Law. All use of the platform must comply with U.S. federal and state regulations, including SEC rules on ESG disclosures, antitrust laws, and data privacy statutes. Any unlawful use, including insider trading based on non-public benchmark shifts, is forbidden.
- Prohibition on Misrepresentation. You may not present Greens Perf benchmarks as endorsements, certifications, or guarantees of sustainability performance. The platform provides relative comparisons, not absolute ratings, and any marketing claim must accurately reflect this limitation.
- Restricted Access and Data Use. Access to benchmark results and underlying data is limited to authorized accounts. You may not scrape, redistribute, or resell platform outputs without explicit written permission. Aggregated public data may be used only for internal ESG analysis or investor reporting, not for commercial benchmarking services.
- No Impersonation or Unauthorized Access. You must not create accounts for entities without legal authority, use another user’s credentials, or attempt to access data beyond your subscription tier. Any breach of account security must be reported immediately via the Contact Us page.
- Prohibition on Disparagement or Harassment. You may not use platform communications (comments, peer feedback, or analyst queries) to harass, threaten, or defame other users or Greens Perf staff. Data-driven critique of benchmark methodology is permitted, but personal attacks are not.
- Responsibility for Third-Party Data. If you upload data from third-party sources (e.g., suppliers, auditors), you warrant that you have the right to share that data and that it meets the same accuracy standards. Greens Perf is not liable for errors in data you sourced externally.
- No Reverse Engineering. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the proprietary algorithms used to calculate peer-relative benchmarks. The methodology is disclosed in summary form on our methodology page; specific weighting models are trade secrets.
- Termination for Violations. Greens Perf reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice. Repeated infractions may result in permanent ban and public disclosure of the violation to affected stakeholders, consistent with our transparency commitments.
These terms reflect our commitment to data-led accountability. Benchmarks are recalculated quarterly using independently verified sector data, ensuring that your performance comparison remains grounded in objective metrics rather than aspirational claims. Any deviation from these terms undermines the trust that sustainability officers and ESG investors place in peer-relative analysis.
For questions about these terms, prohibited activities, or to report a suspected violation, please visit the Contact Us page. Greens Perf does not provide legal or investment advice; use of our platform does not replace your own due diligence. These terms were last updated on the effective date of your account creation and supersede all prior agreements.
